In Medieval English village Stonebridge, Lady Catherine, otherwise known as Birdy, is the youngest daughter of Lord Rollo and Lady Aislinn.  The family are in a state of financial destitution, whilst remaining blatantly greedy, and so Rollo decides to use his daughter as a fast track to the life of wealth and riches by marrying her off to a suitor with endless money and land.  However, Birdy is cunning as she is spirited, and send off any man that comes in her way in both clever and imaginative ways. Bella Ramsey leads an adventurous detour from her previous role in Game of Thrones and stands defiant in her own rights and independence as a woman. Events come to a stand when the vilest of all her suitors arrive and her parents are faced with a test of love.

Lena Dunham leads the stunning adaptation of Karen Cushman's Newbery Medal-winning novel, working with stars Ramsey and Scott as mentioned, as well as Billie Piper, Dean Charles-Chapman, and Sophie Okenodo. Production includes Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Jo Wallett, and Jamie Matthewman has worked with all the team to produce this fabulous spectacle. The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022, and is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2022, by Amazon Studios, prior to streaming on Prime Video on October 7, 2022.
