Matthew is a skilled acting coach, who trained at LAMDA and The Moscow Arts Theatre and has worked as an actor and director. As a freelancer he developed his skills further working at the RSC and with a number of acclaimed directors and practitioners including Kama Ginkas, Mike Alfreds and William Esper.
In addition, he ran two highly successful acting courses at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and GSA; and he continues to freelance as an acting tutor at many of the major drama schools in London.
He has a variety of private clients and coaches actors in the UK and abroad. Ranging from Hollywood and theatre regulars, to people with no previous experience or training who are on their first TV or film job.
His work as a script doctor brings an in-depth knowledge of scene and story structure that helps actors navigate a script quickly and creatively.
Matthew’s experience and in-depth understanding of the actor’s craft means that he offers a unique perspective that sees what is going on with an actor, and then tailors his approach to support and enrich their performance. He is patient yet focused, and feedback from clients confirms that he has a warm, engaging and insightful approach that gets the best out of people.
