Matthew is a skilled acting coach, who has worked as an actor and a director. He trained at LAMDA and The Moscow Arts Theatre. As a freelancer he developed his skills further working at the RSC and alongside a number of acclaimed directors and practitioners including Kama Ginkas, Mike Alfreds and William Esper.

In addition, he ran two highly successful acting courses at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and GSA; and he continues to freelance as an acting tutor at all the major drama schools in London.

Matthew’s experience and profound understanding of the actor’s craft means that he has an ability to see the unique qualities and needs of any actor and, quickly and effectively, tailor his approach to support and enrich their work. He is patient yet focused and feedback from clients affirms that he has a warm, engaging and insightful process that gets the best out of people. 

In addition, his work as a script doctor brings an in-depth knowledge of scene and story structure that helps actors navigate a script quickly and creatively. 

He has a variety of private clients and coaches actors in the UK and abroad. These range from Film, TV and theatre regulars, to people with little or no previous experience who are on their first acting job. Some of the actors Matthew has worked with include: Brian Cox, Mawaan Rizwan, Seyan Sarvan, Jamie-Rose Monk, Crystal Yu, Ed Aczel, and Solly McLeod.
