Now based in London, Ben has worked on over 130 theatre productions, including 20 on Broadway as well as many days on TV/Film sets, ADR studios, and online production coaching.
He was born and grew up in London and trained on the Voice Studies program at the Central School of Speech and Drama. After graduating, Ben taught and coached first in Dublin, and then moved to the US in 1995, living initially in Dallas and then in North Carolina. After he began working on Billy Elliot on Broadway and other shows on and off Broadway, Ben moved to New York full-time in 2009 where he was based until the summer of 2019.
As a native Brit and a US/UK dual citizen, and having worked for three years in Ireland, Ben became the go-to coach in NYC for British and Irish dialects as well as coaching a number of American dialects and a lot of accents from Africa, Europe, Australasia, and Asia.
He coached a number of TONY and other award-winning productions and a number of actors on their TONY award winning performances.
Ben’s off-Broadway work included many productions at organisations such as Manhattan Theatre Club and Roundabout Theatre and regionally throughout the US. He rehearsed and maintained a number of National Tours including A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Curious Incident…, Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia, and Spamalot.
Ben has taught at many acting programmes including RADA, Juilliard, North Carolina School of the Arts, Central School, and the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin.
