Judith Windsor did her MA and PhD work in Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and trained for the theatre at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. In New York she undertook further voice and speech studies based upon the work of Edith Warman Skinner, the doyenne of American voice and speech coaches.
Judith has taught at several of the world-renowned drama schools in London and has served on faculties of American university drama programmes based in London - Bennington College, Sarah Lawrence College, Marymount College (whose London based theatre programme caters for acting students from colleges and universities throughout the United states). Judith was Co-Founder of The London Shakespeare Studio which brought American actors to England to gain experience in the playing of Shakespeare.
Judith is a member of the Screen Actors' Guild, American Actors' Equity Association, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and British Actors' Equity Association. Judith coaches a wide range of accents and is a Specialist in American Accents and Dialects. She works in both Standard, Non-Regional American Pronunciation and Non-Regional British Received Pronunciation. She also undertakes work in Accent Reduction for actors whose native language is not English and does work with actors whose contemporary and/or regional voice and speech are not suitable for period roles.
